Section of the entry for 'Biscuits' in the 1913 book 'Encyclopedia of the Kennel'. The 'biscuit' referred to here is a hard-baked dried meat brick, not the modern Milkbone-type thing. Note that even back in 1913, they knew that grain waste like 'Brewer's Rice' and corn gluten meal was garbage.
