Sticking the legs into an ice-cold bath to try and get some life back into them!!!
Feeling alot better after a quick massage in the Recovery Village...
Normally you don\'t have to run for 42kms to get this sort of touristy photo ;-)
5.28am, thats how early you gotta get up for the Sydney Marathon..well actually that was the time Keli got out of bed, I was up from 4am. Lucky for us the start was only down the road from where we live.
Ready (and willing!!!) for the start. The prospect of 42kms doesn\'t seem so bad from the comfort of your living room...
The starting point, under the Harbour Bridge and across from the Opera House. Would be very scenic if it wasn\'t for the fact it was 6.30am in the morning!!!
Just about to get proceedings underway...
And we\'re off...in the midst of glorious spring weather in Sydney !!!
The runners approach the Harbour Bridge..
A blurred image of me approaching the bridge, we\'re about 3mins into the race at this point...
The finishing line at the Opera House.
The finish line with the Opera House. Not too many pictureseque settings to end the misery for your legs!!
Coming in at pace towards the finish line to break the 4 hour mark...just
And its all over... Finishing time 3 hours 59 mins.
Another irish finisher, Sinead from Wexford.. We were passing each other out throughout the race.
Hardest part of the day, bending over immediately after the race to take the timing chip of my shoes. God my legs were aching doing this!!
The obligatory photo in front of the opera house!!!
Time to rest those weary legs....
